Gameweek 4 Recap and Awards & Gameweek 5 Preview
Sorry this post is so late, I had some technical issues turning this into a blog
from 2005.
It feels like months have passed since GW4, so let’s jump straight into the
highlights to refresh everyone’s memory!
Gameweek 4 Awards
Points Stud: Lampard’s Lads moved into a share of the
league lead, and they did it in style.
“Did someone say style?”
The tip of the spear was Hamways “Holy Angels” Rodriguez, who put up 36.5
points, including 2 goals and 1 assist.
Thanks, Google.
The Lads’ back three was not docked for a single goal against, and even
the unused substitutes were class.
Zombie Alisson Wonderland put up a respectable 94.75 in a valiant
losing effort to the commissioner's crew.
Points Dud: On the Mendy
doesn’t have a bench, they have a hospital wing.
The good news: The Mendys were able to field a full side
The bad news: Not one goal or assist recorded by the XI
The scary news (Happy Halloween): Edouard is the latest victim of
the Mendy injury curse, which means Kepa likely gets another start.
Although the international break came at the perfect time, this is still
a squad working back to full fitness.
The team lucky enough to face the Points Dud hardly needed the help.
Pop Lock And Klopp It jumped out to a huge lead, putting up 91.5
points on Saturday alone en route to the win.
Stock Rising: I’m’Eric Laporte
has won two on the bounce to rejoin the title race. The underlying numbers
are encouraging too - They’re the second team over the 400 point
mark.
Jack Grealish narrowly missed the Willianaires’ 74.5 team total
this week. For a player to score 50+ is impressive. To do it against
Klopp’s Liverpool is miraculous. My insider source tells me the real
reason his transfer to United fell through is that the Glazers thought he
“looked like a complete dick”.
In the only competitive matchup of the weekend, Jackos vs.
VBDTF came down to the final second of the final game. In the end,
VVD did less bad than TAA, but not less bad enough.
Stock Falling:
I don’t want to pile on, but the Mendys have lost each game but
the opener. They're worst in goals and dribbles; and 7th in assists, key
passes, and goals against by defenders. After splashing the cash on Bale,
perhaps the club’s finances are to blame for the lack of injury
reinforcements.
Standings After GW4
Gameweek 5 Matchup of the Week
Pop Lock and Klopp It vs. Virgil’s Beautiful Dark Fantasy are level on
wins at the top. Who will put themselves a nose in front of the other?
Good luck!
